Laundry Pod Challenge

January 18, 2018

Since the concentrated laundry pods became available in 2012 it has been communicated to parents to be aware of young children mistaking these colorful pods as candy.  From January 2017 to December 2017 over 10, 000 children under the age of 5 were exposed to the pods.  Medical complications can vary from chemical burns in the mouth, stomach irritation to respiratory difficulties from inhaling the powder.

Recent news indicates teens have been involved with posting videos of consuming the pods on line.  The concentrated chemicals found in these pods are not only dangerous to the young but to anyone who ingests them.  Have a conversation with your teens about this latest craze.
