Concussion Safety
Did you know that the activities your child participates in puts them at risk of a concussion? A concussion can be caused by any type of fall or impact to the head. The impact causes the brain to move within the skull. Concussions can happen at any time from falls on the playground, backyard or during recreation activities. Concussions have been related to long term damage to individuals. The following are symptoms that may indicate that a concussion has occurred. This list is not all inclusive, if you have questions regarding your child please consult a physician.
- Headache
- Confusion
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Sleep issues
- Balance problems
- Personality changes
