Driving Simulators Available

September 1, 2017

Our driving simulators are located in the garage of the Safety House. The simulators are free to use! If you have a group of teens 14-18 that would enjoy experiencing impaired or distracted driving with out the risk please contact Safety Village of South Dakota. We are open noon – 5:00 pm.

By driving the simulators, participants experience the consequences of distracted and impaired driving without the reality of harming themselves and others.

The simulators have the feel of a real car. Participants are able to choose one of several scenarios. For example, one scenario allows them to experience what it is like to drive drunk. During the simulation, a police officer pulls them over and peers into their window. Participants are then given a field sobriety test. Another scenario prompts them to use their own phone while they text and drive.
