Window Safety Week – April 1st – 7th

Windows let the sunshine and cool breezes in but have you considered them a hazard in your home?

• Inspect all windows.  Are any painted or nailed shut?  Are those windows that may be needed for escape from a fire?
• Do not place furniture under windows.  Items placed under windows provide easy access to window openings, increasing the chance of a child falling out of the window.
• Make sure all windows have locks or window guards.
• Screens are meant to keep bugs out, not to keep children in.  A child can easily push a screen out of place and fall.
